Interferon alfa –2b is manufactured by means of recombinant DNA techniques, using a strain of the bacterium Escherichia coli. Interferon alfa –2 b is supplied as a single dose prefilled syringe of 1ml. Each prefilled syringe contains 3 or 5 millions of international units (MIU) of interferon alfa 2b and excipients (Sodium chloride, Sodium phosphate dibasic, Sodium phosphate monobasic, Edetate disodium, Polysorbate 80, Water for injection).
